Welcome, welcome
The beginning of something new
Dear Reader,
I have decided to give this little newsletter thing a go. I adore getting a weekly dispatch of news from artists and writers I admire from across the world, where they share their news or things that they have found interesting amidst the chaos of the internet. So, I will attempt to add a tiny amount to that collective softness.
This will not be weekly, probably barely monthly. Just a place for me to share some curiosities, things that are happening in my world, and things that I would like you to be a part of. There will be some attempt at adding in that “professional artist” content, but I swear I’ll keep it light.

So, some recent news. For the month of April, I was on an artist residency with Landskrona Foto in Sweden. I was invited to spend time in the city, get to know it and work with some of the children who live there. I worked with a big primary school right in the town, a youth club, and a tiny school of 13 students that is on the island of Ven 30mins by boat from Landskrona. Over the 5 weeks, I worked with 70+ students ages 6 - 12, and together we made thousands of photographs of their favourite places, their hobbies, and the things that make their town interesting to them. I am still working my way through all of the art that we made, and developing all of my own negatives. This is just the halfway point of this project though, we will be sharing all of the work we made at the Landskrona Museum in September, it’s going to be a playful and interactive exhibition with the young people giving their input into the design.
I will be writing to you again in the next week or so with some news about my New Irish Works exhibition with PhotoIreland at The Library Project (very much a work-in-progress show), and some other things that I can’t tell you about just yet (mysterious).
Thanks for joining,
Much love,
Róisín
